Let the Load Set the Specification

Weigh Both Sites Before Settling on a Size

Next, picture both ends of the journey. A delivery address down a narrow Deal terrace may rule out anything longer than a compact truck, while the collection point might lack a loading bay. Check parking, gates and turning room before committing to size.

Match the Vehicle to the Driver, Not Just the Job

The person holding the keys matters as much as the load. If your driver hasn't handled anything larger than a hatchback, a smaller body with good mirrors and light steering beats a bigger truck hired on paper. Decide who drives first, then size the vehicle around them.

Attach the Hours, Cover and Handover Questions to the Same Message

Once you've settled the spec, put every question in one message: the dates and hours you need, whether a tail lift and straps are included, and what the excess would be. Ask which trucks are actually free for your dates, since fleets shift, and note the handover time.
