Map the Day Before You Pick Up the Phone

Write down the shape of the day before you ring anyone. If a Saturday collection means the van comes back Sunday evening, say so. Collection times, return times and the gap between them all affect what the depot can offer you that weekend.

Consider Both Ends of the Journey — and the Driver

Think about loading conditions at both stops. Is there a driveway, or will you park on a narrow street and carry things further? Then consider yourself: hours behind the wheel, air conditioning on a warm day, and enough seats for anyone travelling with you.
