Settle Costs and Cover Before You Commit

Ask for a full written quote early — daily rate, mileage allowance, fuel policy and late-return fees. If you're shifting furniture on a deadline, knowing the total before you drive off prevents unwelcome arithmetic later. Compare two or three quotes and check whether damage protection is bundled in or priced separately.

Build the Day Around Your Deadline

Work backwards from your deadline. Allow time for collecting the van, loading, driving, unloading and returning it before the branch closes. On busy weekends your preferred model may be reserved, so keep a second size in mind. Someone collecting at eight for a midday delivery needs a margin for traffic.
