Settle Who Drives Before Anything Else

Decide the driver line-up on day one. Anyone likely to take the wheel should be added at the outset. Adding someone later can cost more and take time you may not have. For a collection outside the usual routine, a second named driver is often worth it.

Write the Hours Down

Never rely on a phone call alone. Ask for the collection time, the return time and the daily rate basis in an email. If your day starts early or ends late, say so now. A written record settles any dispute about late returns before it starts.

Leave Room Around Both Handovers
