Set Hours Your Diary Can Deliver

Work out the hours you genuinely need the car, then compare them with your real diary rather than a hopeful guess. Remember the hire includes paperwork, inspection and refuelling either side of the driving. If you might want an extra day, raise it while the booking is still forming.

Know What the Handover Involves

Describe the trip honestly in your first message: passenger numbers, luggage at its true size, and any fixed needs such as an automatic gearbox or child seats. Bundle the money questions alongside — insurance, excess, mileage, fuel and deposit — and ask for the answers in writing.
