With several drivers sharing one car, also ask whether anything about multiple drivers changes the cost or the paperwork.

Decide How Collection Will Run

Treat pickup as a short appointment with formalities, not a key swap. Leave time for the agreement, a joint walk-round and photographs of existing marks, plus a moment to adjust the seat and mirrors of an unfamiliar car. Confirm the fuel arrangement and the exact return time before driving off, and ask who to call mid-hire if something goes wrong.

Decide the Return Before You Collect

Fix the hour your last journey truly ends, then work backwards: unload, refuel if required, drive to the drop-off, and close the paperwork. Ask whether keys must go back to the same spot and whether someone can inspect the car while you wait. Where more than one driver is involved, agree between yourselves whose day carries the handback duty. Bear in mind the particular car you get is never certain until the booking is placed.
